Overheating Issues Plague Finchum at Darlington

Chad Finchum was back in action with the NASCAR Xfinity Series over the weekend at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway. Piloting the SS GreenLight Racing No. 14 Ted Russell Ford / Ford Mustang into battle, Chad started 37th on the grid.

He quickly worked his way forward in the field as the race paced through the early laps. In fact he finished Stage 1 in the eighth position with a fast race car. Unfortunately, overheating issues began to plague Finchum during the second stage as he also began to lose water pressure.

Forced to pit under green flag conditions to rectify the issues caused Chad to lose considerable ground on the field. He finished the event with a clean race car, but a a disappointing 33rd-place finish.

"This one stings because without the issues we could've easily finished in the Top 15, but this is all part of it. Big thanks to our long-time friend and marketing partner Ted Russell Ford and SS GreenLight Racing for preparing such a fast race car," Finchum said. "Next race for me will be Bristol Motor Speedway on September 20. We will redeem ourselves and get that deserving finish."
