Finchum Fast Forwards to 26th at Darlington
Chad Finchum enjoyed an excellent outing with Joey Gase Motorsports over the weekend at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway in NASCAR Xfinity Series action.
With practice and qualifying washed away by rain on Friday, Finchum was unable to turn any preliminary laps in advance of his Saturday debut with the team in the Crown Royal Purple Bag Project 200.
Lined up by car owner points Finchum started 37th on the grid aboard his Garrison Homes No. 35 Adkins Automotive / Elite Petroleum Chevrolet, which donned a throwback scheme to Kevin Harvick's 2001 ride.
As as soon as the green flag dropped on the event, Finchum began moving forward in the field and ran inside the Top 30 all day long before ultimately crossing the finish line in 26th.
"It was a really great weekend for us, especially when you consider that the team and I had absolutely no history together before the weekend," Finchum shared. "A huge thanks to Joey Gase Motorsports for calling me up with the opportunity and to all our partners for being onboard this weekend.
"Not sure when my next race will be but we will keep working on things and we will be back on track soon!"
