Chad Finchum 29th in Food City 300
Chad Finchum rumbled to a 29th-place finish in the NASCAR Xfinity Series' Food City 300 on Saturday evening at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.
Aboard the Elite Petroleum SS GreenLight Racing No. 08 Ford Mustang, Chad started 23rd in the 300-lap race and overcame adversity to record a 29th-place finish at his home state, 1/2-mile oval.
"It was a long night on the high banks of Bristol Motor Speedway. We started off practice really, really good, showing a lot of speed going Top 5 fast in our group and 22nd overall. We made some good adjustments and qualified 23rd and really expected a Top 15 run last night. However, as soon as the green flag dropped we were battling issues that lasted most of the night," Finchum said. "Ended up bringing home a 29th-place finish without a scratch on the car!
"Playing on home turf is always a pleasure and with the announcement that NASCAR made going back to the concrete for both races next year we will be trying to double down on our opportunities.
