Chad Finchum Battles to Second-Place Finish in Karting Action at Godspeed
DANDRIDGE, Tenn. (11/19/22) - Chad made the last-minute decision to take his Go-Kart to Godspeed Raceway on Saturday evening.
Making his first-ever appearance at the track, Finchum started eighth in his heat race via the pill draw. He raced to second to earn the second-starting spot for the feature.
After getting shuffled back in the field on the start, Chad rebounded to finish second a the checkered flag.
"So thankful that my dad and my wife and my friends could come out and have a good time! Kart racing is were my journey started many years ago back around 2001, and to be able to get back to my roots and be able to make another memory with my dad and my friends is something I will always cherish," Finchum said. "Wish we could’ve got the win but for never racing at this track before and my last kart race being two years ago pretty pleased with a 2nd-place finish!"
