Chad Finchum Finishes 20th in Daytona Xfinity Series Opener

Daytona Beach, Florida (02/15/20) Chad Finchum officially kicked off the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series season on Saturday afternoon at Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, Florida).

Finchum qualiied 33rd fastest for the NASCAR Racing Experience 300 in his Garrison Homes No. 13 Toyota of Knoxville Toyota at the 2.5-mile oval.

Chad enjoyed a great outing as he raced to a 20th-place finish in the 120-lap affair. Finchum last ran the season opener at Daytona International Speedway in 2018. His finish this year was eight spots better than it was in his previous start.

"We had a car that ran in the Top 10-15 all day long, but we just got caught up in a late-race, pit road penalty that sat us back. Despite all of that we still had a great weekend, and I'm proud of th effort that our team put in," Finchum said.

In regards to falling just one sport short of qualifying for his first Daytona 500 start in NASCAR Cup Series action, Finchum wasupbeat.

"It's been a dream of mine to race in the Daytona 500 since I started racing at the age of six," Finchum shared. "We came up a little bit short, but I can't wait to try again.
