Chad Finchum Returns to the Driver's Seat at Darlington Raceway

Darlington, South Carolina (03/07/20) - After more than two months out of the driver's seat due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Chad Finchum finally was able to return to the driver's seat on Thursday evening at Darlington Raceway in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition.

Chad started 24th on the grid for the Toyota 200 in his MBM Motorsports No. 13 Great Southern Homes Toyota and ran in the Top 20 for much of the event at the track, known as "The Lady in Black."

Unfortunately, mechanical woes struck late in the race, which caused Finchum to slip a few spots. He ultimately crossed the finish line in the 24th position.

"We had a car that was capable of a Top-15 finish until the final 20 laps or so. It seemed like something was going away in the right rear, and it made the car almost undriveable," Finchum said. "However, for this to be the first time I've been in a car in over two months, and for us to be so fast, I was really happy. Our 24th-place finish allowed us to move up in the points as well."
