Electrical Fire Hampers Chad Finchum at Bristol Motor Speedway

Bristol, Tennessee (06/01/20) - Monday evening took Chad to his favorite track on the NASCAR Xfinity Series circuit with a trip to Tennessee's Bristol Motor Speedway.

Chad drew the 17th starting spot at the 1/2-mile oval in his MBM Motorsports/ No. 13 Smithbilt Homes/ Toyota Knoxville/ Apple Barn Toyota.

He raced as high as the ninth position before a small fire on the dash forced him pitside. After repairs he rejoined the field and ultimately finished 24th.

"It was an interesting day at Bristol. We drew the 17th-starting spot. We were really good in the race battling between ninth and 15th, until we had an electrical fire under the dash during Stage 2," Finchum shared. "We had to spend some time on pit road with the team rewiring some things under the dash. After that our day was pretty much over. We got back out there and salvaged a 24th."
