Chad Finchum Fights More Mechanical Issues in Abbreviated Iowa Outing

Newton, Iowa (07/27/19) - Chad Finchum's speed in the U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway was thwarted on Saturday afternoon by a broken brake caliper.

The part's failure forced his Heartland Tire & Auto Center/ Raceway TireNo. 42 MBM Motorsports/ DEEI/ Smithbuilt Toyota Supra out of the race on lap 113.

"It's a tough break and it's hard to smile in these situations," Finchum said. "We were 17th fastest in practice and qualified 22nd. We were up to the 19th position and fighting for the lucky dog award and then brake issues struck, sending us behind the wall. It's disappointing to have so much speed and not achieve the results that we knew we were capable of. We'll got get them next week at Watkins Glen for the first road course race of the year."
