Oil Pump Belt Issues Sideline Finchum at Chicagoland

Chad Finchum's venture in the Overton 300 at Chicagoland Speedway (Joliet, Illinois) came to a disappointing, early end on Saturday afternoon. The culprit of his premature departure on the steamy afternoon was oil pump belt failure.

"We worked hard all weekend to get to where we needed to be on like lap 20 or so we lost power and pulled to the pits," Finchum recollected. "We discovered we had lost an oil pump belt, and that eneded our day. We're really disappointed, but I'm super stoked to get back to Daytona next week."

Chad qualified 34th fastest on the grid for the event, which was held in sweltering heat on Saturday afternoon. Finchum found his day end quickly with the mechanical malfunction lap 23. He was credited with a 38th-place finish in the final rundown.
