Suspension Woes Slow Chad Finchum at the Monster Mile

Dover, Delaware (10/06/18) - Chad Finchum found a promising outing in the Bar Harbor 200 at Dover International Speedway interrupted by a suspension failure early in the 200-lap affair.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series rolled into the Monster Mile, where he qualified 26th fastest in qualifying. His hopes for a career outing in his Smithbilt Homes/ MBM Motorsports/No. 40 Toyota Camry went south from there.

"The MBM Motorsports organization provided one fast race car, and we had our second-best qualifying effort of the year with the 26th-starting position," Finchum said. "We were up in the Top 20 and just before the end of Stage 1 I radioed the crew and told them something was wrong. We entered the next corner and had a shock break. It took us a while to find the parts we needed to make the repairs, and then we had more damage than we thought.".
