Chad Finchum Makes NASCAR Xfinity Series Debut

Dover, Delaware (06/03/17) Chad Finchum made his NASCAR XFINITY Series debut over the weekend at Dover International Speedway (Dover, Delaware) in an entry fielded by Team McClure Inc and MBM Motorsports.

After making his first-ever laps in the Overstock Mercantile #40 MBM Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro on Friday, Chad qualified in the 31st-starting position on the grid for the OneMain Financial 200 on Saturday morning.

During the first half of the 200-lap affair at the track known as the "Monster Mile," Finchum slowly worked his way through the field. He looked to be headed for a solid run in his debut in the series, but bad luck struck just past the halfway mark, when the engine expired.

The mechanical issue ended his dream outing in the 34th position, but it definitely didn't dampen his spirits nor his hopes for the future.

"Not the end result we intended, but the car was definitely good and we were making up ground," Finchum commented. "Thanks to MB Motorsports for preparing a good car and thanks to Overstock Mercantile for being apart of my first NASCAR XFINITY race. I couldn't be any happier to finally get my shot in this series and I'm super excited to see what the rest of this season and the future holds for me!
