Finchum Competes at Charlotte Motor Speedway

Concord, North Carolina (10/07/17) - Charlotte Motor Speedway was the destination for Chad Finchum and the MBM Motorsports on Saturday. The team entered the Drive For The Cure 300 with the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Rain plagued the event. In fact qualifying was rained out, so the the starting grid was determined by points.

As a result Chad started 34th on the grid. Another long rain delay forced the event start time to be pushed back. When the 200 lapper finally went green Finchum immediately began marching forward in the field in his Buddy Gregg RV #40 MBM Motorsports/ Sticky Fingers Chevrolet Camaro.

Early in the event Chad found his way into the Top 25. Unfortunately the bad luck bug found the #40 around the race's midway point. A mechanical failure made the car a handful for the final half of the event, but the team didn't give up. Finchum crossed the finish line in 29th.

"We had a really fast car this weekend, and even though we had the mechanical failure we dug in deep and came away with a strong finish," Finchum said. "I want to thank MBM Motorsports bringing me a great hot rod to the track this weekend. For my first time there I can't complain. I also want to thank Buddy Gregg RV and Sticky Fingers for being a part of the team again again this weekend.

"Last, but not least least thanks to all of the fans, who waited out the rain delay with us and stayed to watch and support the race!"
