Move to Pro and Orlando Speedworld (FL) are Good to Chad Finchum
Tennessee Driver Wastes No Time in Getting to Victory Lane at Winternationals
After jumping full force into the Legends Car scene in 2009 and finding much success, including a Thursday Thunder Young Lions Division Championship at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Tennessee driver Chad Finchum has stepped it up a bit by moving up to the Legends Pro division, one of the most competitive racing divisions in the country.

After getting his feet wet racing a new crowd in a few smaller events, Finchum and his A1 Heating and Cooling team headed down to Orlando, Florida for Winternationals at Orlando Speedworld where Finchum found his way to victory lane in his first competitive race and only his fourth division start.

“We ran like three pro races in the Winter Heat Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway,” explained Finchum.  “But we didn’t really count that.  We went down to Orlando with really high hopes of just getting top-fives because Pro is one of the toughest divisions in the country.  We ended up winning on the first day and that was just the greatest thing that could have happened because that started off our year in the best way we ever could have wished for it to start.  We couldn’t be happier and now hopefully we can continue that streak in Pro this year.”

After kicking off his run at the Winternationals on top, Finchum backed up his success by posting a runner-up finish as well as 11th and 14th-place finishes after having some trouble while running in the top-five.

“We had had a good car all week when we ran,” commented Finchum.  “But everybody else was really good too, the competition was really stiff.  We got into a little bit of trouble and knocked the toe out a little bit so we ended up finishing second on Wednesday and then the next day we were running fourth, passing for third, and got into a little bit of trouble in that race and had to go to the rear, unfortunately, but it all turned out alright.  Racing in the pro’s is really, really tough, but this season we’re going to learn a lot and just keep working hard.”
