Chad Finchum Making Southeast Limited Late Model Series Debut at Myrtle Beach Speedway
Tennessee Racer Heading to South Carolina for Series Finale Event

16-year-old Chad Finchum spent the last few years collecting multiple wins and championships in the Bandolero and Legends Car realm of racing prior to moving up to the bigger, faster Late Models in September, 2010.  Racing at Newport Speedway in his home state of Tennessee, Finchum never finished outside of the top-four positions in his first five starts, winning his first Limited Late Model feature in just his second race.

Now, Finchum will continue learning from behind the wheel of his #19 A-1 Finchum Heating & Cooling / Brickyard Bar-b-Que / Embassy Suites of Concord / TIA Late Model as he will enter the Southeast Limited Late Model Series 100-lap feature at Myrtle Beach Speedway (SC) on Sunday, November 21st, as part of the big Myrtle Beach 400 weekend at the track.

“I am very excited to continue learning in my Late Model by racing outside my home state this coming weekend,” said Finchum.  “This will also be my first race with the Southeast Limited Late Model Series, and I am looking forward to racing in the series and at Myrtle Beach Speedway.”

Prior to the event, Finchum and his race team headed to the South Carolina coast to test at the track a few weeks back.

“I had never seen Myrtle Beach Speedway prior to testing there, so it took some time to get used to the track,” explained Finchum.  “It is a lot different from what I am used to.  The practice was needed, and by the end of the day, we felt pretty comfortable with the car at the track.”

While Finchum might still be new to the full-sized car scene, his crew chief is not.

“We have been working with “Dinky” Torbett, and it has really helped our program,” said Finchum.  “He was Trevor Bayne’s crew chief when he raced in the Pro Cup Series, so his experience and knowledge has been valuable to my learning curve in Late Models.

“I have competed in a Legends Car for 100 laps, but never a Late Model.  I am looking forward to the event and hopefully putting our A-1 / Brickyard Bar-b-Que / Embassy Suites of Concord / TIA machine in the show and give it a good run on race day.”

The Southeast Limited Late Model Series 100-lap feature will take place on Sunday, November 21st, at Myrtle Beach Speedway (SC).
