Finchum Takes Top 10 at Lowe’s, Ready for Championship at Atlanta
A double feature night during the ninth round of the Summer Shootout at Lowe’s Motor Speedway (NC) proved to be rewarding for Legends Car driver Chad Finchum.  The standout racer from Tennessee logged a pair of top 10 finishes in the Young Lions division, including a fifth in the second race.  He hopes that momentum can carry him to a potential Thursday Thunder Championship at Atlanta Motor Speedway later this week.

“Every week we have done something different to the car here at Lowe’s,” said Finchum.  “We can’t seem to get it right where we want it.  We have been getting better every week, and this week I thought we really had it.  We didn’t quite tighten it up enough, we finished sixth and fifth in the two features and it wasn’t a bad night for us.”

Now Finchum will set his sights on Atlanta where a Championship slipped through his fingers a year ago.  This year, he is out for redemption in the Peachtree state.

“Atlanta has been good for us,” added Finchum.  “We were second there during the last race.  We didn’t win the title down there last year, and if we can do it this year we would be really happy.  All we have to do is finish eighth or better so we are just going to play it safe and stay on our toes.”

Finchum will go for the Legend Car Young Lions Championship on Thursday, August 6th at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia.
