Finchum Drives From 14th to Second at Lowe's Motor Speedway
Legends Young Lions Racer Impressive Once Again in NC
When a Legends Car racer starts 14th in a 17-car field at Lowe's Motor Speedway (NC) on the front-stretch quarter-mile oval, it is pretty well assumed they are fighting to just get to the top five as a win is nearly impossible. Well, that is unless you are Chad Finchum, who started that deep in the Young Lions feature Monday night, got to second and almost won the feature before the checkered flag fell.
"Last time we came here we got a third-place finish, and this time we got a second-place finish," said Finchum. "The Embassy Suites / Brickyard Bar-b-Que Legends Car was awesome today. We gave it all we had at the end, but our tires went away. We started 14th and worked our way through the field. By the time we got to the leader’s back bumper with two to go, the tires were hot and we couldn’t do much with him, but we still gave it all we had."
Finchum will return to the seat of his #19 Legends Car at Lowe's Motor Speedway on Monday, April 27th, for the final Spring Fling event at the track prior to the Summer Shootout Series, which starts in June.
