Two For Two: Chad Finchum Wins at Newport Speedway
Tennessee Racer Scores Win at Home Track
One week after taking the checkered flag first at Concord Speedway (NC), Chad Finchum was back in his #19 Legends Car looking for victory lane, this time a bit closer to home.  At Newport Speedway (TN) Saturday, Finchum obtained that goal, driving into victory for his second win in a row in the Young Lions division.

"Newport is a home track for us, so we went down there hoping to do well," said Finchum.  "We were pretty good in practice.  The Embassy Suites car was actually pretty good the whole day.  We went out there for qualifying and ended up getting outside pole.

"We went out to the race and we were doing well.  We took the lead and led to halfway.  Then Greg Turner and I swapped the top spot about seven times and ran side by side.  There was a green-white-checkered finish there, and when they dropped the green flag I was running second.  We took the lead and ended up winning."

Winning back-to-back races isn't new for Finchum.  In 2008 he won multiple Bandolero features in a row, including winning eight of the 10 Summer Shootout series races at Lowe's Motor Speedway (NC).  Finchum is ready to head to his next race and hopefully continue the winning streak.

"It felt good to win at Concord.  That helped build our confidence going into Newport.  We might be starting a winning streak like we did last year in the Bandolero."

Finchum's next race will be Friday, April 17th at Concord Speedway (NC).
